Teresa Robison is an artist working in oil and acrylic from Germantown, TN, where she lives with her husband and paints in her home studio. The beautiful area around Germantown and Memphis provides a wealth of material for Teresa to paint landscapes and florals. She has painted since she was a teenager and about nine years ago, began painting professionally after raising her children.

Teresa’s art education began with private oil painting classes taught by Richard Goetz, an accomplished artist from Oklahoma City. She studied art while earning a Bachelor of Science at Oklahoma State University. Her art education also includes study at the University of Memphis, watercolor classes under Fred Rawlinson, and workshops with Keith Stubblefield, Joanna Arnette and John Pototschnik.

Painting from life is Teresa’s preference, but she completes larger paintings in the studio from reference material which includes sketches, small paintings, and photographs. Teresa usually paints alla prima and from a limited palette. Although, occasionally she will draw a portion of the painting with a paint brush before laying in the paint if the subject is complicated and sometimes she will use thin layers of color to achieve certain effects in the atmosphere of the painting. For Teresa, the beauty of God’s creation is enough to inspire her to paint and the reason she wants her paintings to make others happy.

Teresa Robison’s paintings are in private and public collections in Arkansas, Alabama, California, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
